Competition Rules

  1. The competition is organised by the CESNET Association.

  2. The competition is intended for individuals, but teamwork is not prohibited. When working as a team, use a single shared account.

  3. By taking part in the competition, participants (individuals) consent to the competition rules.

  4. The competition consists of set of challenges within the CTF platform. The solving of challenges is subject to scoring. The ranking of individuals reflects the score awarded. In case all challenges have been solved before the competition is closed, the time at which the last result was entered is decisive.

  5. The best players will be announced on the online Award Ceremony. Award handout is subject to the following conditions:

    • Physical prizes are shipped exclusively to a delivery address within the European Union. The organiser may, at its sole discretion, allow shipment of a physical prize to a delivery address outside the EU (e.g.  o the United Kingdom, Switzerland, etc.); there is no legal entitlement to such an extension, and the organiser may refuse or withdraw it at any time, without giving reasons

    • Financial prizes (vouchers) are handed over exclusively in person, at the award ceremony in Prague organised at date, time and place announced on the competition website. The organiser may, in justified cases, decide otherwise for an individual winner; there is no legal entitlement to any such alternative arrangement.

  6. Where a prize cannot be awarded to the participant because the conditions under clause 5 are not met and no exception has been granted, the organiser may, at its sole discretion, award that prize to the next eligible participant in the ranking, or decide not to award it at all. There is no legal entitlement to either outcome.

  7. The organiser reserves the right to exclude a participant from the competition, or to withdraw an already-awarded prize, where there is reasonable suspicion that the participant solved the challenges predominantly through an automated tool or AI agent, without a corresponding genuine personal contribution. The organiser's decision is final and not subject to review. Where the account is shared by a team, this exclusion applies to the whole team, regardless of which team member is suspected.

  8. Employees of the organiser can take part in the competition, but without any entitlement to prizes.

  9. In order to comply with the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) requirements, you are required to get acquainted with the Personal Data Protection Guidelines relating to the personal data obtained and processed in relation to the organisation of the competition.

  10. Except where these rules say otherwise, the organiser's decisions on exceptions are made at its own discretion, and participants have no legal entitlement to them.

  11. The organisers reserve the right to change the competition terms and conditions; or to discontinue, postpone or cancel the competition without any reason or notification.
